“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11 (KJV)
It is important for us to pause and think about the actual meaning of Christmas.
As Christmas draws near, we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, Lord and Saviour of all mankind. He came to this earth to willingly suffer and die on the cross for our sins. Yes! He loves and cares for us that much! So amid the presents, parties, and pepperpot, remember, it is that important!
It is easy for us to get caught up in the festivities and preparation of our homes so it can be perfect for the season. However, it’s our hearts we should really prepare. For while Christ’s birth has passed, His return is nigh. In this Christmas season let us make our life right with God. Just as we dedicate time to cleaning our homes, let us also remember to dedicate time to God so He in turn can cleanse us and make us a new creation in Him. Allow the Saviour to save you.
Set aside some time to spend at His feet, either by yourself or with others, to seek His face. Remember to give Him thanks for His immense love for you, knowing that He came to this world with you in mind. It is important!
Prayer
Merciful God, we come to You this day, thanking You for every blessing You’ve bestowed upon us. Thank You for loving us so much that You died on the cross for us, so we can be saved. Help us to keep You as our main focus this Christmas. Father, You increase as we decrease, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
